August 2026 Project Update

We're pleased to advise that the Sale Former Gasworks remediation project is progressing, with preliminary works scheduled to commence in mid-August 2026 and major remediation works planned to begin during the September 2026 school holidays, subject to final mobilisation.

The remediation works are expected to take approximately 9–12 months and will include:

  • Site preparation and establishment
  • Excavation and removal of contaminated soil
  • Treatment of deeper contamination using In-Situ Solidification (ISS)
  • Replacement of excavated areas with clean validated fill
  • Ongoing environmental monitoring and site reinstatement

Community Drop-in Information Session

Local residents, businesses and the school community are invited to attend one of our community drop-in information sessions to meet the project team, learn more about the upcoming remediation works and ask any questions.
